| subject: | Need some Help PDOXWIN 4.5 |
Hi,
I'd like some help to make this thing :
15 people work on an application from PDOXWin.
They create new elements in a table.
So when they create a new element in this table, I put in the first field
(Code field) a Number, wich could be for e.g. the Firm Key, the value of this
number is going up for eatch new one. (This field is Indexed)
But for the moment when two people do exactly in the same time the creation
of a new element, the Key code could be the same, and at the end when they
save it, with the index, one of the two element disapeared ...
So I like to find a good ObjetPal code, to say : When you create a new
element inside the table, you see the last value for key code (no problem for
this), you create yours + 1, and nobody could do the same thing in the same
time ...
I've try this with LockRecord ... Open the record put the new key code,
EndEdit, and Edit just after ... when the key is saved in the table, but
nothing run ...
Thanks a lot for your help !

Herve'
If you've got version 5.0, use the autoincrement field type. Another
way to do it is to have a separate table that contains the last key code
being used and place a full lock on it and get the next key code and then
save it there and release the lock.
Hope this helps...

Sounds like you're almost there. Use the information retreived with
enumPrinters in conjunction with printerSetCurrent(). There's some sample
code in the online help for enumPrinters that should help.
FWIW, you might want to have the report open in a Design window when you
change the default printer, so it can react to the font change information
this will generate.
Hope this helps...
