I lived there from 2 years-old until my early 20's. I still pronounce it
that way because it was named after King Louis (lou-eee), not King Louah or
Lewis.
Also, I was watching a recording once of Muhammad Ali, one of the most famous
Louisvillians of all time, that was made during one of his "victory
celebration's" at Louisville's Freedom Hall. He said "lou-ee-vill" at least
three times. If he thought it was pronounced that way, I sure won't be the
one to say he is wrong. :)
