Thank you for the report. I've been dreading mentioning it to my sister
because it would have really upset her. My aunt died in 2015 and I don't
think there were many trees in the newer section where she was (and I
think they used the smaller markers in that section too). But it's good
to know the campus was safe overall.
And yes, it really is a beautiful area.... when I was there for the
funeral my sister showed me the lake/river where they'd even do a little
fishing. It's really peaceful there. Looking forward to going back at
some point.
Growing up we never went there because my aunt and her lifelong roommate
(who's really just another honorary aunt) had their own apartment more
towards Lousiville. Only the retired sisters live on the campus (the
main difference between sisters and nuns is that real nuns live
cloistered in convents and sisters generally live and work within the
community until they retire).
But my sister and mom used to go there all the time and so my sister will
visit again... maybe I'll tag along and we can get together.
