BJ> You post APPEARS to say Juno DOES support spammers. That is NOT true,
BJ> the spam did NOT originate at Juno, and Juno has already filed suit
BJ> against the people that did it.
Only going by what I've already seen from mailcity.com. Mail originating
from my accounts on JUNO, mailcity, and hotmail were sent out on the same
day. Those from mailcity and hotmail were sent out within minutes of each
other. All sent to the same address, at vds.com.au. Of the three,
mailcity was the ONLY one which made it to its location. I sent mail to
the support of the other two 'telling the world' as far as those two
servers what had happened, even including the entire daemon-bounced email,
so they could see for themselves. Each of the daemon-bounced mail
'refused' the JUNO address, with an 'unacceptable address'.
(The friend even sent me email TO the JUNO.com
address, letting me know that his server had blocked JUNO.COM addresses
from being received because of SPAMMERS.) Apparently his server has also
blocked hotmail.com, as well because the same 'refusal due to unacceptable
address' was included in the daemon-bounced mail. Since then, we've been
able to stay in contact via mailcity.com.
Note: The only feedback I got from someone at any of the servers above
concerning their position on SPAMMERS was from mailcity.com. (In fact, a
rather nice email) and since then there have been a couple of questions
I've sent in for feedback and *Always* gotten a personal message back,
rather than an automated response from JUNO, which didn't help in the
least.
And funny, their server was the only one of the three above that hadn't
been blocked. Granted, I did get 'email' from JUNO... but it was an
automated response to check out some faq's, which didn't solve my
problem with sending out email that wouldn't get returned undeliverable.
BJ> If you find an ISP that blocks Juno because they're too STUPID to KNOW
BJ> what happened, and they won't fix it on their own, TELL THE WORLD!
BJ> That's the ONLY way to make them live up to their obligation to
BJ> PROVIDE SERVICE to their customers.
BJ> I've been using Juno for more than a year, send a fairly high number
BJ> of messages each month, and have had ONE problem, which was with an ISP
BJ> who bounced an e-mail written from my PPP account but with a Juno
BJ> return address. I explained to them that it WAS a valid account, and
BJ> that THEY were the only ISP who had a problem with it being done that
BJ> way (I prefer to have my personal e-mail come to Juno), but they
BJ> wouldn't budge. They lost several users because of it, and wil probably
BJ> lose more.
You're lucky then... cause apparently I'm not the only one who has had a
problem sending mail from JUNO.COM.
