BQ> Don't know what it would be worth if anything but Coke just stopped
BQ> selling Fresca a few years ago. I hear they are still selling it in
BQ> Australia though. It was a grapefruit based diet drink. Pretty good.
BQ> I drank them all the time until Coke discontinued it.
Since a/the moderator is chatting I'll put in my $.02 cents worth.
I was a student at Grossmont Community College back in 1966-67 and
drank a lot of Fresca. It was only sold in cans there (which would
depend on the local bottler, not the national company). It was taken
off the market because they used an artificial sweetener, sodium or
calcium cyclamate, that was suspected of being a carcinogen.
The ban was lifted a couple of years ago and Fresca again hit the
market, though they may well use aspartame now. It is still being
bottled and sold here in Utah. (Bottled being a generic term - it
usually comes in aluminum cans or plastic 2 liter plastic bottles.)
The value of *any* old soft drink is usually well documented. Go to the
collectibles section of your local library and check out their Coke
value guide. (You could also do it at the neighborhood Barnes and Noble
but that's rude. ) If Fresca isn't covered there find a Coke
collector and they could point you in the right direction.
I now return you to buying and selling...
