subject: Shark Repellent Device

I seem to see a bit of discussion about an electrical device that is designed
to repel sharks. I do recall earlier tests by the US military that ended in
dismal failure and was sold underground for some time to some unsuspecting
folk. If there is new technology out there I would like to get any
references to it so that I could follow up on the liturature. I have not run
across any, and I read a great deal of the industry lit., which makes me
curious about the source of the information and why such a device would not
be more widely touted. Based on what we believe to be true about sharks
responses to electric fields in general, lets just say that I have a high
index of suspiscion about the voracity of claims circulating on the
underground.

Any references would be greatly qappreciated as I am always ready to consume
humble pie (given sufficient provocation of course).

Be wet and well.
