* EleBBS Support List Hi Large, > I am using 3Com Etherlink II Pcmcia net card (megaherz). Check that you are using the correct 3COM packet driver designed for that particular card. http://support.3com.com/infodeli/tools/nic/ > Dos BBS? > A Project to make a BBS that is as oldschool as when it all began. Well if you really wanna be oldschool, install modems and Desqview :) But to your users, a BBS running under Windows, Linux or OS/2 will look just as oldschool as a BBS running under DOS. > Thought i may be able to run more doors also I have not found any DOS doors that wont run under Windows, though there are many old doors that don't support a Fossil driver. To run non-Fossil doors you could install a Windows virtual COM port such as NetSerial (http://netserial.com/sysop) but there are easily thousands of later doors that do support Fossil drivers, so I don't know if its really worth the effort. Another problem with non-fossil DOS doors which I previously mentioned, is many will not work above COM4 (or above COM9). > and the only spare laptop i have only has 64Mb RAM I'd suggest buying an old P3 computer with at least 128mb ram. You can usually find these for about $20 at garage sales or swap meets, and often they come with a Windows COA sticker.
