subject: an idea

To everyone on this echo:
I've noticed of late that there hasn't been a whole heck of a lot of traffic
about RTTY here. In addition, what few messages that do come this way seems
to include supposedly off-topic stuff about WEFAX, FEC, morse, and the like.
What I propose is to make all the above stuff officially on-topic here. Call
the echo RTTY/WEFAX or whatever. I'd also like to see more stuff on 137 mHz
and 1691 mHz wx sat broadcasts, since there seems to be a large scale move of
weather info from shortwave to microwave and the like.
What does everybody think? I'm open to comments. And, also, thanks to
everybody that's contributed in the past and help answer my questions.
Alan Sheets
ps. Write your representatives about the loss of weathjer info resources on
shortwave. Remember, shortwave receivers are cheap and easy to build for the
amature or professional. I hate to think that real-time weather information
that belongs to all taxpayers should be limited to those with cable
television and/or the money to build a satellite downlink.
