The correct answer to this will be dependent upon the dive agency (PADI,
NASDS, etc) and when you do your open water dives (before/after you turn 16)
as I don't have the RTSC (Recreation Training Scuba Council) specs in front
of me at the moment.
I would recommend contacting the dive agency you feel most comfortable with
in your area and proceed from there. Just remember, it's your safety they
are looking out for. Don't try and take shortcuts as experience will make
you a more safer diver.
