I think I saw WANDA GUIN say to VALERIE MURPHY on 01 May 97 07:05:28:
VM> I bought a kit from QVC called "Magic dip". I think that is what

Don't need a kit. Saw it on a TV show several years ago. Gallon of water
with a tablespoon or so of borax mixed up in it and then float a few drops of
generic oil (NOT acrylic!) paints on top of the water. A large flat pan with
low sides is great for this. You gently lay the paper on top of the water,
then pull it back like peeling a banana. Lay item flat and let dry - oil
paints take awile to dry.
If you want to dip something like a candlestick, you do the same thing, only
put the water into something deeper than the candlestick, like a bucket.
Same procedure except you dip the item all the way into the bucket, then turn
it a bit as you immediately pull it slowly back out..this is what gives the
marbleizing effect. And no two are alike.
Hope it helps. Have fun. :)
