| subject: | DOS v OS/2 Msged |
Comment re Alpha you recently sent me. 1. It works. No serious bugs seen, although I haven't gotten around to reestablishing the ridiculous config of a *.msg netmail area declared as squish and then using it extensively. 2. Dos is totally unexceptionable - I haven't seen a thing wrong with it. Two days full use on the ZoneGate so far. Dos shell, Novell drive, Msged. 3. In OS/2, in a Dos environment autobooted in a OS/2 full window, the Dos version hangs. Hang is immediate, while loading. It could concevably simply have a -very- long preread time - this is still with the 700+ echoes available. I waited several minutes, and it did not respond. OS/2 itself was clobbered, with no task switch available, so I infer that it crashed big time indeed, with great violence done to the OS. I suspect that whatever it did is also an ungood under DOS. OS/2 3.0 Warp, running patch kit 6. Novell requester 2.11, with the mailbase and Msged on a network drive. (OS/2 Warp 3.0 patch kit 8, coming up shortly.) MsgedP is dead solid so far - I'm using it to write this message, after using it to read the entire 250 messages of Public Domain I have on hand. (Tisk tisk.. such -language- annoying all the dewy eyed kiddies... :-) Regards, Dave Hatch. --- Msgedsq/2 3.10 alpha 2* Origin: DealBlue Support BBS (3:711/808) SEEN-BY: 50/99 640/230 690/718 711/401 410 430 807 808 809 934 713/888 800/1 SEEN-BY: 7877/2809 @PATH: 711/808 809 934 |
