Nice is a command for adjusting the priority of processes. Lowering the
priority of one process makes it "nicer" to the other processes.

The nice command can also raise the priority of a process (if you have the
authority, root or su).

Try "man nice" or "apropos nice".

The apropos command is good for seeing which commands might do something you need.
