RJT> Oh. Checking their web site never occurred to me.

 RJT> Yeah.

WC> I've both PDF catalogs here and DigiKey's is a bear to read but
 WC> Matt Electronics is easy.

Last I knew you could request one from their web page
which is precisely what you'd expect it to be named.
www.digikey.com

Tossed all mine last move except for two transformers.

I'll have to get some perf board to mount the white LEDs on.

RJT> Too bad we don't have any of those around here.

WC> Perhaps they can be found in some other discount or drugstore.
WC> Found mine as an impulse buy item right at the checkout.

RJT> A bit more than what you could get out of one 3V coin cell, then.

That and they do not include a current limiting resistor!
Either they're counting on the cells internal resistence
to limit current or treating the item as a throw away.
Case is cute design and the LED isn't actually hooked up to anything.
One lead simply sits on one side of the dual batteries and
the ither is held apart by a plastic slide with metal tab that makes
the connection when slid forward.

WC> I'm guessing given the monochromatic nature of LEDs that the white

WC> like UV illuminates a phospher in a flourescent.

RJT> Maybe, I don't have a clue. I stopped trying to keep up with things
RJT> some time back, and there are some serious gaps in my understanding of
RJT> what's going on with a lot of the technology these days. At least I
RJT> have web access now, and can look for the info when I happen to think
 RJT> of it while online.
