Ok.

I know there are some issues with the intial compile.  It has been a while
since any of the developers started with a clean plate and attempted to
compile.  You may actually have to run the compile two (or three?) times to
get some of the libraries compiled due to errors in compile order.  [Or did
that get fixed?]  I think all of us started with the original two tar file
distribution that (I'm forgetting the name at the moment) ____ got working
from Scott's initial distribution, and then have worked from the
sourceforge archive from there.  There is some initial building that may
only be in one of the tar files.....

Also, I know that the base GCC compile has changed versions since any of us
have done a serious recompile, so there is probably code, scripts, etc.,
that are broken when using the newer tools.  :(
