Around here, schools, including colleges, tend to take at least a week,
up to a couple weeks or so break... and some factory places might shut
down between Christmas and New Years, since a number of employees are
using up take-it-or-lose-it-vacation days...  But if one is working in
retail, or food service, there's not likely to be much if any time off
this time of year...  ;)
