this editorial practice explains some of the head-scratcher one is
occasionally subjected to.

Books were described to me once as paper bricks with covers wrapped about
them.
It's a hysterical presentation from the SF world, probably exists on the
Internet somewhere, though, today my foggy memory can only tell you the
presenter was femail, and it was, hmmm, circa 1989 or 90.....
