| subject: | Maximus for Unix/Linux still supported |
BJ> at..... If you can contribute changes, and need BJ> access to source forge archives, let me know. MMD> I am looking at trying to fix the code for the little MMD> .bbs viewer called Oracle which comes with Maximus. MMD> Seems to be looking for a file called language.ltf MMD> which I can't figure out where it would be. Because MMD> Maximus is such a BIG code repository, I don't want to MMD> break something by trying to fix such a tiny program. The language.ltf file is located in the lang subdirectory off the main max install directory under OS/2. Based on other issues we hit with the port, I suspect the path isn't specified correctly for pointing ot the language file (english.ltf in my case) or there may be a case issue with the file name (code expecting a certain mixed case, and the actual file having a different case, possibly all in lower case). Interesting... I just looked for Oracle in my linux build and didn't find the binary. The source is under the util source subdirectory. I don't think I have the latest CVS extracted, but the version I have looks like it currently does not compile an executable for oracle. MMD> Long ago I think I remember having oracle MMD> working. Sadly that was then, found a huge source of MMD> .mex and .mec files for my bbs. I wanted to try them MMD> before putting them in the bbs. Looks like I am not MMD> going to have it as easy as I wished. Nope.... Running a DOS, NT or OS/2 based system? MMD> I did get the latest CVS updates for max. seems MMD> to be working OK. I will keep looking to see how MMD> things are going in the CVS area every week or so. It won't change unless someone checks in changes..... I wonder if Bo is listening in on this conversation? MMD> BTW, my bbs is up. Still waiting for a new fidonet MMD> node number so I can get squish interfaced with MMD> Binkleyterm 2.60XE and Maximus. All message bases are MMD> ready to be used. It is able to take data calls now MMD> too. 860-618-3091 telnet://pinkrose.dhis.org if anyone MMD> wants to help debug it. Need testers and of course MMD> users. Let's see, area code 860? Where are you located? Conneticut (sp?)? I see 1:142 and 1:320 as nets showing NC's with your area code. Do you have a copy of the the latest nodelist? Need any help in making contact? I assume you have netmailed the appropriate NC. Take care.....
