It sets the links for a reply to a msg in the middle of a thread
incorrectly.  Here's the scenario:

Consider a thread with the following msgs linked:

2  4  6  8

I reply to msg #4, creating new msg #9.  The new links look like this:

2  4  8    9
      ^ -> - - - - - <-^

Msg #4 now points forward to #9 and #9 points back to #4.

Msg #6 still correctly points back to #4 but 4 doesn't point to #6 any more.

Msgs #8 and #9 don't get properly linked.

With #6 as the 'current msg', cursor-left followed by cursor-right will
land up at msg #9.

Clear as mud? :)
