Hello again Delores,

My BOLO (be on the look out) list is at 3 pages with a discouragingly small
number of crossed off entries!

Yeah, I'm going to have to bite the bullet and get a backup system; just as
soon as I get my HD back from Maxtor and reinstall everything. Right now I've
just got minimal installs of everything that I absolutely need. Not much room
for storage or frills.

Unfortunately that is one of the big loses I'm afraid. My last MM backup was
over 6 months ago, so lots gone down the tubes there. I'm going to get
orton
Utilities and see if I can revive my little 250 mb that had MM and a few
ther
unbacked up directories on it, otherwise it will be reformat or replace time.
Have you ever read any of John Straley's books? They are set in Alaska and he
does a great job with the ambiance and feel of Alaska, so you can see it in
your mind. A lot of books could be set anywhere, but not Straley's, he
eally
makes them Alaskan! But doesn't go so far overboard with detail that it
impedes the story. A lot of very poetic descriptions. Good characters and
decent plotting as well. He reminds me a lot of Tony Hillerman's books and
writing.
