| subject: | Current state of Maximus for Linux |
RdL> for the development done so far on Maximus. I can see RdL> how a big job like this would need to have some things RdL> higher priority than others. Mark me down as someone I dunno about that. Mostly one guy wrote Maximus. Nothing has been changed for 10 years, and there's only a few thousand lines of code. So it can't be that hard to sus out. RdL> who is interested in DOS doors on linux Maximus. RdL> Without doors, I wouldn't have many users (not like I RdL> have that many to begin with) and there would be no RdL> point keeping the bbs running. I'm shocked to hear that :) The only time I work on my BBS is when life severely stresses me out. Cheap time filler and I don't have to talk or tangibly interactwith _anybody_ woohoo (!). Wouldn't know what to do without it sometimes. BJ> Care to help with development? RdL> I wish I could, but I'm not a C programmer. I'm one RdL> of those java guys :/ That stuff'll come in handy when HTTP's added to Maximus. Synchronet somehow uses Java to talk to the BBS. Sounds like a good model. I'm going to ripoff their code when the time comes. --- Maximus/2 3.01* Origin: Top Hat 2 BBS (1:343/41) SEEN-BY: 3/0 633/267 640/954 712/0 313 550 620 848 @PATH: 343/41 138/146 392 123/500 261/38 712/848 633/267 |
