I've had some bad experiences buying electronics from Walmart in the past. I 
know Bearcat has a good line of scanners, and that some might be better or 
cheaper than their Radio Shack counterparts, but the ones I've been able to 
actually get my hands on here locally just aren't in the same class as the 
upper-level base/mobile scanners I've been looking for.
