Hi!
MI> First of all, about the only drivers you'll find for the car that are
MI> rated at 300W or more, are subwoofers. Keep in mind that the power
MI> rating of speakers means NOTHING except as an indicator of how much
MI> power they'll handle (or more specifically, how much heat they'll
MI> dissipate). The amount of power you actually crank into them will
MI> depend on the output of the amp driving them, and a myriad of other
MI> design factors that affect power output and how it's measured.
Right, I've learnt a bit from talking to friends and their
experiences.
MI> Secondly, you won't likely find "good" speakers for $90, period.
I've noticed that, the brand definatly matters with speakers, I was
under the impression it wouldn't make much of a diff before.
MI> You want that kind of bass, you have two choices: spend several
MI> hundred dollars to do it right the first time, or spend about a
MI> hundred for a cheap amp and cheap subs in a cheap box, and then
MI> replace blown drivers on a regular basis.
I will be spending a few hundred, I would say I don't wanna go over
$600aus, I hope I can pick up a nice system for that.
MI> Seeing as I'm in Canada and you're in Australia, I can't really
MI> recommend a PLACE. I would recommend checking your local yellow pages
MI> for car audio specialty shops (not those "electronics superstore"
MI> dumps) and talk to a salesman *and an installer* about designing a
MI> proper system *for your car*.
Ahh, yep, I didn't notice you were in Canada. I've looked around
locally and am slowly working out who's cheap and who's not that
cheap.
