Well , thats true. But only if you are about to connect them directly.
If you're gonna using a "HUB" (you can see this as an Ethenet switch-box)
you need 1-to-1 utp cable. This means all 4pairs will be used in an
RJ-45 connector.
Maximum length is about 85 meters.

Wire 1 is the one when you look on the left side of the plug when the lock
is facing down. I assume A) is how it seems from a side view.

If you use Coax you should use RG/58U, this cable has an charateristic cable-
impedance of 50 ohm. You could make the terminators yourself, but why make
them yourself, they cost allmost nothing.
It's better to use already-made terminators. If you use resistors of 50 ohm
and solder it unto the cable you might encounter signal-los.
