lolol... yeah, I got a total kick out of that :)
but Dory's whale translations had me *howling*... omg I was almost in pain
:)
that part of the movie alone was worth the ticket price!

or they're afraid to in public for fear of the "voice raised in anger?you
must be a child beater" sort with a hotline to child welfare. Some family
friends had to deal with that. All came out ok pretty quick, but it was
horrible for them just the same. but I suspect it was just lazy parenting
more than anything else.

Yeah, it was on 4 screens at Park Meadows (as was Matrix when it opened)
Matrix and Nemo are both on 5 screens at AMC Highlands Ranch... that sort of
thing drives me a little crazy. The complex has 24 screens and they can't
devote *one* to showing movies that otherwise don't get a shot? Foreign
films, independent etc.

this?"

that's what the girl behind me was doing. I wanted to turn around and yell
"shut up and watch and you'll figure it out!" but of course one doesn't do
that with a little kid... (one would like to take their parent(s) into the
lobby and do it to them tho)

yeah, I thought it might be risky, but I *so* wanted out of the house

When we went to see The Matrix at 11am last Friday the theater was
practically empty :) If there were more than 20 ppl in there I'd be
surprised. Suited us... stretched out, got the prime eye-level dead-center
seats.. perfect!

I must not have been paying attention to that..

Ah, I should have said... it was one of the previews for one or both of
X-Men2 or Matrix2
It's sort of like a Victorian X-Men with Dr. Jeckel/Mr. Hyde, The Invisible
Man and others of the type belonging to a group of adventurers lead by Sean
Connery. It's not generating much buzz, but ... Sean Connery... well, you
know how that goes

That one was a trailer at Matrix2
looks quite good -- lush cinematography (which you'd expect in an "epic"
sort of film) and Tom Cruise in a beard... looking quite nice too

I was in high school at the time it came out. I'd read the book before the
show, and had an image in my head of someone (since forgotten) closer to my
set of interests at the time. I thought Richard Chamberlain was a bit old
and geeky But... was pleasantly surprised I enjoyed the mini-series so
much. Still enjoy it as a matter of fact -- that was some great television.

heh :)
Well, the effects for the sailors look pretty cool
but I just didn't get any sense of swashbuckling fun, self-aware humor, or
playing it straight adventure... it seemed to be lacking in life, though it
did appear visually appealing. (though dark)

yeah -- that line is in the trailers I've seen. But the Hulk -- obviously
your drawing point -- appears to be little more than a badly drawn dorky
cartoon, and weirdly over AND under-sized at that. Hard to describe
actually, but the ppl I was with all grimaced.

> Right now I'm debating about the covers for The In Laws (Michael Douglas

I've heard the In-Laws is ok... I've seen Douglas in a lot of interviews
lately, and he looks like he's having a pretty good time these days :)
I've always enjoyed his movies.
The Italian Job is getting a lot of good press -- most ppl say it's
formulaic, with major logic problems, and questions one just shouldn't
ask... and all agree it's little more than a movie-length product placement
ad for the Mini Cooper, but that while it's all that -- it's also a well
done example of same, and a fun popcorn caper flick. I'm always up for those
:)

> Tried to find the original In-Laws to rent today, but was denied,

wow, I would have thought Blockbuster would be featuring it
Try Hollywood Video if you have one
