Your repost came through just fine. It was a good message. The only
thing you didn't make real clear was that someone like me who doesn't
have a CD ROM but does have a Colorado or Connor tape backup system
can take the zipped collection on a tape, upload it to the hard drive
into a temporary directory, unzip it, and then selectively save back
the unzipped files a bunch at a time to as many backup tapes as are
necessary to have the whole collection unzipped on tape. Then the
hard drive temporary directory and its contents can be deleted and
one font file or graphic file or whatever can be restored from the
tape at will whenever the need arises. As you know, that is how I
use the original font collection. It is unzipped on my tape but was
stored in compressed format. So, when I want to try a few new fonts,
I just go into Colorado and select a few to restore to the hard
drive and put them into Userdata Fonts on my desktop to apply to
some text to see how they look.
As you asked me to do, I have uploaded your post to comp.os.geos.
Here is what I said as a preface. "Because she does not have Internet
access at this time, Terri Ferrier has asked me to upload this message
for her. Because it was put into my mail reader from a text file, there
are no quote marks. Please do not respond to me about it but contact
her directly at the address or phone number given at the end of the
message."
I'm still really "temporarily gone" until I finish this issue of
Canine Classified. Am reading but only posting when absolutely
necessary. This was one of those absolutely necessary times. TTYL.
