subject: Re: JITTER, BITS AND BULL?

I got my new Legacy catalog yesterday evening and was a bit taken
back to find that my powered subwoofer now sports a new amp that allows
twice the power. It is of the same design and build of the new monster
Pacemaker Powered Sub. I felt I should have been offered the opportunity
to order my sub with the upgraded amp/crossover network and larger
tiroidial(sp?) transformer. Considering the lead time needed for a
full color glossy catalog, I would have guessed that they knew about
the new model around the time I ordered mine, or at least by the
time mine was made and "voiced" in their listening room.
I called Legacy not knowing what really to expect as I knew I
wanted the upgrade and had a point about availability, but I did
in fact choose the one that was delivered. And as such they aren't
under any real obilgation to do anything, as this one works great/
as advertised.
In short they are sending me the new inards(above). Just like
that! No problems! And, I ended up talking with Bill Dudleston
again about the new full range surround towers they will have
available first quarter, next year. I am glad I waited! They
sound awesome. They originally intended full range rear towers,
but during their research and about 40 prototypes into the process
they came up with a couple pretty original ideas that should
make a good accounting of themselves. Again, they haven't tried
to reinvent science like many. They have gone with the flow
or logic and science and worked from within with dual 7"
kevlar (Eatons) mid/midbass and a highspeed fabric dome tweeter.
Will explain in detail via E-Mail.
Cheers, John
Will also give you the info on the Carver CD. I am also
selling my TFM 42 and two TFM 35 amps. Or at least I
am going to advertise them. Any idea what I should ask
for them in mint condition with boxes and manuals?
