I just wish there were alternatives that were as convenient as the neighborhood grocery store. Farmer's markets are terrific for a lot of produce, but they can't grow everything a consumer may want -- the land doesn't support it. (nor would we want it to considering what they'd have to do to it) AND, being honest -- while getting the ripest, most perfectly flavored produce is necessary for a first rate chef (and I do enjoy eating it) -- I don't have the time to deal with it, nor the inclination to run after it every day. I like the fact most my produce will last a week in the fridge, some longer, some longer still on the counter. But... I do miss those strawberries, and those big summer peaches. :) > Of course, the economics of it doesn't REALLY buy off the palate..... right > Support your local Farmers' Market, tygress yup yup... though I haven't got a clue where one is in my locale... --- Rachel's Little NET2FIDO Gate v 0.9.9.8 Alpha* Origin: Rachel's Experimental Echo Gate (1:135/907.17) SEEN-BY: 633/267 270 @PATH: 135/907 123/500 106/2000 633/267 |
