Ref: Sound waves and damage to internal organs:
Although I know little about the technology, I know that highly
directional soundwaves are being used in the medical/surgical arena
to bust up kidney stones and the like, without an incision. A kidney
stone is quite a bit harder than soft tissue organs such as the
liver and kidney. So, it would stand to reason that besides the
ears, other organs can indeed be damaged by sound. But, I believe
your brain would be turned to noodle soup before the other organs
started checking out one by one.
If I am not mistaken, the sound being used surgically is
extraordinarily high pitched, and I am not sure that it is audible.
High pitched sound wave are very directional, whereas bass from
a certain level (ABOUT: 60Hz) (I said "ABOUT" so please don't take
me to the woodshed again, guys & gals) is almost completely omni
directional. I know most of the texts say "non-directional". I
find that a bit of a waffle, at best. I believe "omni" more
accurate.
Cheers, John
