MR> I know there was a dive operator going into Santa Cruz area for shark

MR> Monterey,You go and park you car in Monterey on the wharf where the
The local fellow who does "shark" dives takes the boat out a couple of miles
from the big tourist beaches and chums the water over a submerged pinnacle.
I think I saw a 20/20 piece on an operation like the one you describe, which
sounds a lot like what YBS is doing up here. If we have another year where
the open water sharks are coming in close to the beaches I have no doubt that
someone up here will decide that it's the shark dives that are pulling them
in. On an interesting note though, the sighting that I desacribed to you
occured less than a feww hundred yards off where this operators moors his
boat. He goes from his mooring, chums and dives then comes back to his
mooring. If I didn't know better it would seem to me that the operator had
something to do with the shark being that close to shore, as it does to the
general public.
MR> Although I'm sure it would be an adrenalin rush to be in a cage doing

MR> Dispatcher and E.M.T. for an Ambulance company so I don't know if I

Not that kind of rush anyway. I'm going back to getting recerted as an EMT-B
after some time away from the whole EMS thing. National board testin is in
July. I'm not sure I'm up to dealing with it on a daily basis either but
we'll see. There is a real need for good volunteer EMS in my area.
Any good diving around Santa Cruz? I have a friend out there that I may go
visit sometime this year.
Be wet and well.
