You got my vote on that. Ever notice how they don't discriminate looks? They don't care what you look like? Just that you treat them right and they'll repay you manifold with their loyalty and funny things they do... oh so many little funny things they do. Dogs DO have 'personalities' but to their credit they lack human vanity. WC> I've a Pit Bull that's 15 years old, gentlest dog I've ever met WC> and I've NEVER had to discipline. Come to think of it Wayne. I never had to really discipline Patches or Cosmo either. (Shih tzu and shih tzu terrier). Cosmo is a bit more catlike (royalty complex) in his demeanor but both dogs (both pampered) did understand the word NO. Perhaps as it wasn't dispensed very often so it had more impact when it was. Dogs thrive on pleasing us... (heh so they get fed! ) WC> Not neutered, house dog and now on steroids due to a degenerative WC> spinal condition. He's lived a good long life Wayne. I was wondering why dogs don't live longer than they do. Just why is that? Patches was so full of life, so full of energy almost right up to the end. IF we could have gotten him a heart transplant I would have... heck I'd take a loan out of the bank to do it. He would have been worth it. (Patches was diagnosed with mitral valve inefficiency last August.) WC> He does hog the bed at night though. Our two figure d out the best/safest place for them was right in the middle though Patches always took toward the foot of the bed and Cosmo toward the center. They say dogs don't 'feel' but I beg to differ. Cosmo knows his older brother isn't with us anymore. He really does know. We're going to adopt another dog soon.. Cos was an 'only' dog for five years before we adopted Patches. He didn't mind it but now I think he truly does. There was nothing quite like this pair.. these two dogs were an act.... tons of fun to watch how they played together... got along so well. Like slightly competitive fun loving brothers. Cindy ... As I learn, I know about more things I don't yet know. --- PPoint 3.01* Origin: Up a palm tree (1:3613/1275.13) SEEN-BY: 633/267 270 5030/786 @PATH: 3613/1275 123/500 106/2000 633/267 |
