Hello, Jim....
JB> Hi all, I downloaded Maximus a few months ago,

JB> using parameter -p, but when I run the script, I see
JB> these error messages:
JB> ! 23 Feb 18:28:31 MAX Could not open device! (/dev/ttyS5099)
JB> ! 23 Feb 18:28:31 MAX SYS0001: ComOpen(com5100)
JB> ! 23 Feb 18:28:31 MAX Could not initialize communications library
Ah... you are probably getting bit by interpreting old comments in a new
environment. The port number was the serial port to be used to connect to
the modem..... ..... Not an IP port number. That's why it is
trying to open up /dev/ttyS5099.....
JB> here is the code I am using to run max:
JB> while /bin/true
JB> do
JB> [ -f "${PREFIX}/die.now" ] && break
JB> bin/max -w -b38400 -n0 -p5100
JB> sleep 1
JB> done
I'm going to have to find some time to dig out what I have on my system.
I've attempted to run both local console (-k switch if I remember
correctly) and with a TCP/IP port. The IP stuff was an add on in the Linux
environment, and I'd have to look up what was done..... I don't remember
it off the top of my head, and I haven't had time to play with this since
Bo and fixed up this area..... I believe the IP
port number is either hardcoded or is a different parameter.
JB> I have not looked at the source code yet, but I figured I's post a
JB> message incase it was something simple like I'm using the
JB> wrong parameter. :)
The parameter you are using isn't for what you wanted....
JB> Thanks!
You're welcome....
JB> Jim
Take care.....

P.S. Would you like to help maintain the code?
