Hi Terry,
PM> Netmail doesn't carry or use origins and neither
 PM> Maximus or Squish (or
PM> other programs, like timEd) will put one on a
 PM> netmail. You'd have to
PM> make your netmail an echoarea somehow, and the
 PM> origin might get stripped
 PM> out anyway.
TS> I realize that they are not neccessary or used for netmail.
PM> Maybe you could set up a tagline for the same effect?
TS> Maybe that is exactly what I am after. All I was
TS> looking for was some type of footer that stated where I
TS> am and the BBS name (not for advertising reasons).
PM> Out of curiosity, why the need for a netmail origin? The message
PM> header on a netmail is enough to ID its origin
 PM> node number. The rest
PM> of a typical echomail origin is basically BBS
 TS> advertising. YMMV, but
PM> I'm not concerned about advertising my BBS by
PM> netmail. Kind of a small
 PM> audience.
TS> The tagline idea is really what I am after. I just
TS> wanted to attatch some type of "signature" to my
TS> netmail messages. Maybe it is time to switch to an
TS> external editor? Thanx for the hint Patrick.
You can add a signature line when you use Qwk packets with an offline
mail reader, and you can add a tagline as well. I use BlueWave sometimes and
I have the same signature line I have on this message set up in it. Another
way to do your signature is to set it up as a macro in your mailer, that way,
just push Alt-F1 or one of the other function keys to display your line. The
only drawback to this is the length of the line and it can only do one line
at a time.
