Debug mode in any software is supposed to put a hurt on the size of your log.
Unless you don't care, or you rotate your logs, you may want to consider NOT
running in debug mode all of the time. Only when there is an issue that needs
addressing do you really need to be in that mode. Debug mode is for when you
need every bit of possible information the software can give in order to
pinpoint a problem. When there are no problems, you're better of staying in the
less detailed logging mode.
At least that's how I understand it, anyways. YMMV. :)
