If they are that stupid, they shouldn't be working there in the first place. A word processor is a word processor. There is no rocket science involved in using one. You type, format, save and print. The major difference between spreadsheets is whether to use a colon or two periods between the start of a range and the end of a range. There is no way it can cost more to switch to OpenOffice than it does to stay on Microsoft's upgrade path or deal with the hassle of supporting multiple versions of Office.
