| subject: | Re: CPU temp in a Mac |
From: "Frank Haber" >CPU is 41 C Fret not. 1. The CPU can take care of itself (throttle down). 2. My pitiful iBook 12 1.3GHz G4 runs 50C most of the time; 55 when working hard. 3. If you need something to worry about, worry about the HD. Mine gets to 62C during heavy disk access. I hate that. That means that Jobs had to buy a "special" for my model. (Retail HDs generally spin down if they hit 55-57C.) I wonder why the fan hardly ever turns on until the HD temp hits the mid-sixties. This is not good for disk life. So I bought the Care package. --- BBBS/NT v4.01 Flag-5* Origin: Barktopia BBS Site http://HarborWebs.com:8081 (1:379/45) SEEN-BY: 633/267 @PATH: 379/45 1 633/267 |
