Back to cops and doughnuts -- our friends Tom & Amanda lived in Crown Point, Indiana, for a while. Tom worked in Chicago and Amanda made many trips to the city for her art instruction at the Morton Arboretum (where she got her certificate in nature art). She said that the Chicago P.D. got in the habit of trying to get drivers to slow down on the freeway by stationing unmanned cop cars along the side of the roadway. They left one out in the same spot a little too long, though, because one morning some wag stopped by and put a box of doughnuts on the hood of the unit!
