| subject: | Muslims Ask Russia To Mediate |
The "terrorist attacks ... are the work of those who wear
Muslim clothes ... but it is incorrect to number them among
almost 1.5 billion people who profess this world religion".
It looks like a duck, waddles like a duck, and quacks like a
duck, but apparently it is a seagull in a hijab.

Muslims ask Russia to mediate between West, Islamic world
Moscow, September 4, Interfax - Muslims, who participated in a meeting
of the strategic vision group named "Russia and the Islamic world" in
Kazan said that it is unworthy to unite such notions as Islam and
fascism, ambassador-at-large of the Russian Foreign Ministry Veniamin
Popov told Interfax.
"Having Muslims in the avant-garde of fight against terrorism is
the most effective way to counter it. Muslims suffered from recent
terrorist attacks more than others, and they consider uniting such
notions as Islam and fascism as unworthy," the ambassador said.
"In the current situation of a virtual cold war between the West and
the Islamic world, representatives of Muslim states call on Russia to
play the role of a mediator in order to fine-tune the real partnership
between civilizations and the dialogue between cultures and
religions," the diplomat said.
"Thus, terrorist attacks in various countries of the world are the
work of those who are wear Muslim clothes. But it is incorrect to
number them among almost 1.5 billion of people in the world who
profess this world religion. Such an artificial statement based on
shallow comparisons may result in very bad consequences and bring
about a religious clash on a global scale," Popov said.
