No, the ONLY way to know if a copy was OK is to use 'diff' or in my case
dvdimagecmp
I do not 'always' use sync 3 times, it is an old Unix thing.

The instructions I quoted and gave are for a harddisk copy,
and I clearly stated 'on a Linux PC'.
