Hi Roy,
JH> And btw, by using SCDMax I think you will save a lot of time.
 RJT> What's that?
 JH> It's a 3rd party utility that can generate a FILEAREA.CTL

 RJT> is that it's generating filearea.ctl stuff that's for
RJT> max2, not max3! Still, I can take what it did and
RJT> work with it, though I've still got a *pile* of work
RJT> to do before I get done with this...
Ah, depending upon the version of SCDMAX you received, the .CTL files
are Max3 and *not* Max2. Granted, you do have to put the file division
starting and ending lines in the .CTL file(s), but that should be all. The
latest released version is SCDMAX05.ZIP, dated March 30, 1996. If the
version you have has the "TYPE" field, then it's Max3 format. SCDMAX05 also
allows you to enter the file area descriptions while processing the CD-ROM.
Thus, you don't have to go back and edit the .CTL file except for the file
division thingie. 8-)
If you have any problems, please let me know. I'm dying to do/add
something to SCDMAX, but no one has suggested anything. I did increase the
size of the "TYPE" field a little and allowed for commas in the file area
description in my version, but that's hardly worth releasing. 8-)
        Good luck and take care!
                                        Victor
