That's *terrible*! What if one was close to you, and you can walk to it? Do 
you have to pay, then? How about surrounding communities? Do they do the same 
thing? The only charge I can think of in our community park system (here in 
Poway) are the charges to use the pool or the recreation dept. classes. It 
costs about $4 for the three of us to use the community pool for a day, or we 
could buy a season pass for about $80.
I know our taxes are a wee-bit high here in SoCal, but I guess that might be 
a little easier on one than being nickled and dimed to death just to use a 
local community park.
