Carey,

Well, allow me to indulge in a brief desription of how
CS-MAC handles this sort of "configurability".

First off, CS-MAC is a generic logon/fetch mail macro
series. It is designed to run totally unattended for extended
periods of time (months if you want).

At the same time, it supports configurable single BBS
logons. For example, if there is a certain BBS that you want to
just log into, then load a VT keyboard macro file ... by putting
{keyb,vt102} in the .FON entry (and {glr} as the linked macro) you
can get a simple login with a VT keyboard after login is complete.

At your suggestion, I am starting to flesh out a cap_type
variable that will automatically open a capture file after login is
complete (could have it open before logon is complete .. which would
be your preference?). For capture_type, I am thinking of allowing
naming capture file either by date or by system .. are there other
naming systems I should incorporate? I have in mind a setup that
has a default (global) capture_type that can be over-ridden with a
.FON variable setting.

I am also interested in your thoughts about other
"pre-login" tasks. What other tasks would you want to configure
before telling your dialer to go ahead and make the call?

I'm not familiar with this concept. What does it do?
