-> I also think that any tax system which punishes people for becoming
-> more
-> successful--
->
-> That phrase is Move One in the 'Fair Tax' opening gambit.
-> The opposite move is 'To much some has been given to such more will
-> be asked' )NOT a direct quote:-)
-> Or, "It's Good to share"

"But the one who did not know his masters will and did things worthy
of punishment will receive a light beating. From everyone who has
been given much, much will be required, and from the one who has been
entrusted with much, even more will be asked."

"But the one who does not know and does things deserving punishment will
be beaten with few blows. From everyone who has been given much, much
will be demanded; and from the one who has been entrusted with much,
much more will be asked."

"But he who did not know, yet committed things deserving of stripes,
shall be beaten with few. For everyone to whom much is given, from him
much will be required; and to whom much has been committed, of him they
will ask the more."

Notice the common thread in each version: having things "GIVEN" creates
expectations of return giving. It is interesting that you would
introduce this into a discussion of taxing peoples income. Do you
really think most people are "given" an income rather than EARNING it?
