Someone was nice enough to pass along a copy to me,  and yeah,  it did save 
me some time.  The only problem is that it's generating filearea.ctl stuff 
that's for max2,  not max3!  Still,  I can take what it did and work with it, 
 though I've still got a *pile* of work to do before I get done with this...
