| subject: | Invite - (pardon the cross post) |
Hello, I am not certain if any folks herein live near enough to me to join a pilot study, but I thought I'd send out the invite anyway -- if you do, e-mail me off-list and I'll give you the details. Here is the official invite: Lezlie Dear Friends & Colleagues, I am embarking upon my dissertation. Over the last two months, I have met with a group that is engaged in inquiry into the arts. Currently we are two writers and a painter/poet. A composer briefly joined us, and may return. This group meets under the joint "hat" of Saybrook Graduate School (no, no enrollment required) and the International Systems Institute. We are a conversation team(The Emeryville Team) based upon the model being explored and developed by scholars from many fields associated with ISI. This is not a support or networking group, rather it is an attempt at inquiry as defined by human science researchers. Last month we decided, for a number of reasons, to expand our group. As we are a serious inquiry group, and therefore wish invite those we know wear, at time, two hats: researcher and involvement in the creative arts. It is for this reason that I am sending you this invitation to join us. We meet once per month at a restaurant in Berkeley and inquire (an on-going process) into what we do as creative artists/writers. It is possible that a written report or paper will come of this, it is too early to tell. (Withwriters in the group, it's likely.) I must also, in the interests of transparency, that I am utilizing using some of what we learn to inform dissertation, and also to write a summary report for one of my graduation requirements at Saybrook concerning our "conversation process." We will meet in June in Berkeley, please contact me for other details, either by e-mail or on the telephone. If you cannot come this month, but are still interested, we are an on-going group and the invitation will still beopen.
