subject: Maximus for Unix/Linux still supported

I haven't tried it yet but I did follow the code and looks like to stuffs
keys to use the browse command from the message area. Very cool. Of course
Opus 1.73a didn't have a browse menu that allowed reading, thats why the
never idea crossed my mind ;*
I even pertended I was the script and did the keystrokes it does. it is
MORE than usable ;) Change char and it will let people READ their waiting
mail too.
IN other news... Board is up. but one little mite with squish. Howe
come areas.bbs isn't used despite it being included within the squish.cfg
file? Kept tossing all of my i-link mail in to NETMAIL. (like I want to
read all of my echos in netmail. However after I put the echos in the
squish.cfg file in the squish.cfg form it worked fine. Heven't had a miss
placed echomail since I did that.
Quick question though. How high can the bps rate fead into Maximus be
for telnet? by default the max.sh uses -b38400, would it also work if I put
in -b230000 (its closer to what telnet actually does on my broadband.)
Also how do I disable the use of pico as a local message editor for
local login? because I do the screen thing via remote telnet, I nevert see
the pico screen. I rather use maxed for local entry anyway. but If I wanted
local message editor how come it ignores the EDITOR or VISUAL environment
varibles in Linux? tried to use /usr/local/bin/vi and it still fires off
pico. got to got to another window to zap pico as I can't enter anything or
even abort the message.
Remote login with regular telnet works fine. maxed gets used. You see,
my bbs is on a headless workstation. my head is on another workstation,
thats why screen gets used. hell lot easier than 5 ssh sessions for 4
boards and binklyterm (its my pots mailer)
