Hi Michele,
MMD> Well as far as Oracle goes I may have been think of
MMD> something else. Still I would like to try to use it
MMD> for browsing the many .mec files I found on the
MMD> internet for maximus. Found lots .mex files as well
MMD> but I still cannot seem to find a check for new mail
MMD> .mex file.
Its been many many years since I last touched a Maximus MECCA or MEX file,
however there are a number of ways of doing this.
MMD> would like to give the users the ability to
MMD> get their mail before they get lost in the many echos
MMD> I am configuring up.
I run a Mecca file during login like this -
==========================================================
[ifkey]M [keyoff]M
[key_poke]1;
[menu_cmd msg_area]
[clear_stacked]
[gray cls]
[white] Select one of the following -
[yellow] 0 [gray]Continue without checking for your mail,
[yellow] 1 [gray]Check for mail in your [lightcyan]TAG[gray]ged areas only,
[yellow] 2 [gray]Check for mail in [lightcyan]ALL[gray] message areas,
[yellow] [white] (WARNING! This may take several minutes!)[gray]
[clear_stacked]
[white ] Select: [menu]012
[choice]0[gray cls quit]
[choice]1[goto chktag]
[choice]2[goto chkall]
[goto chkagain]
[/chktag]
[clear_stacked]
[key_poke]TYL;
[goto chkdoit]
[/chkall]
[clear_stacked]
[key_poke]AYL;
[goto chkdoit]
[/chkdoit]
==========================================================
This forces a check for mail in only LOCAL message areas,
[key_poke]1;
[menu_cmd msg_area]
then prompts for any further areas the user may wish to check.
Cheers.............pk.
