I am assuming you are using Slackware's version of KDE. Although most
dist. KDE is same. You will need to tell what version of KDE you have. The
configuration of XF86config in /etc or /etc/X11 is the key. There you can
find a section named 'screen' that will have what size you are running. You
can have other sizes and use 'ctrl alt +' to toggle thru the screen sizes.

Usually you get the mouse pointer to the lower right corner of a window and
click and hold while moving up/left to shrink or other way to expand.
Click and hold in the upper blue border to drag whole window anywhere you
want.
There is a email list for kde you can sign up with, forgot the url for it.
