Thanks for the reply and the Douglas info. I did the
acceptance tests on over half of our DC-9's so met a great
many of their production pilots.
This year was the first time since I retired in '82 that I
missed Sun & Fun. I've been having a bit of a problem with
osteoarthritis in my left hip, and didn't feel I could
handle the Long hike. Last year I went with another retired
AC pilot and a local friend who flew B-29's and B-50's with
the USAF. We accidentally sat at a table in the big mess
hall with a large group of retired United pilots who meet
there each year. The BS flew thick and fast for an hour or
so - you know what it's like when a bunch of us get
together! Hope my problem clears up by next spring, and
would love to meet you there.
BTW - I met a retired NW 747 driver who lived a block or two
away from me on Treasure Island a few years ago. Don't know
if he's still here, and can't remember his name!
