KN> Nektar - Remember the Future, Recycled, Down to Earth
CR> Those first two you mention are fantastic. _Recycled_ is my favorite.
CR> _Down To Earth_ is good, but it's lacking something.
But it's not as bad as many would lead one to expect.
KN> Shadowfax - Watercourse Way - totally excellent album
CR> Wow! Damn, I'd better check these guys out! Stuart, you've got some,
CR> right?
Yeah, this album would be right up your alley, blow you
away and all that..... I guar-rohn-tee it, as Mike would
say, if he were pretending to be from Louisiana.
KN> However, their stuff on Windham
KN> Hill when they reformed in the 80's is, except for one
KN> track on their first WH album, mawkish crap
CR> Yeah, probably something similar to Pete Bardens' solo albums in the
CR> 90s, eh? Or Focus' album from the 80s.
Not quite that bad, but the horn player does most of his
stuff on a lyricon, using that real supersweetened New
Age lyricon sound which sets my teeth on edge. And the
music was more like Muszac, a combination of music and
Prozac. Blech! Stick with the original band from 1976. It
came out on Passport Records.
Cheers,
Kenneth
