A couple of you have asked about my mod to the MN2700 to adapt positions 3=20
and 4 of the MN2700 antenna switch for coax feedlines.=A0 This mod is for th=
ose of=20
us that don't have the B1000 balun and don't run balanced feedlines or long=20
wire antennas.
Open up the MN2700 and unsolder the three leads at the Fiberglas terminal=20
board that connects to the B1000.=A0 Remove the Fiberglas board and save it=20=
so you=20
can restore your MN2700 someday in the future.=A0=20
Fabricate a replacement board of the same size out of scrap aluminum.=A0 Mou=
nt=20
two SO 259 connectors to the board.=A0 Mount the board into the MN2700 in pl=
ace=20
of the Fiberglas board (the SO 259 connectors should just clear the rear pan=
el=20
cutout--thank you Drake).=A0 Solder the two leads from the antenna switch to=
=20
the SO259 (leave the grounded lead floating).=A0 That's it.
Here's a picture of the additional SO259 connectors:
